Empty street with small shops and trees lining the sidewalk at sunset in Vancouver's East Village.

Vancouver's East Village is one of the coolest and tastiest areas of East Vancouver. Home to the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), it's the neighbourhood many visitors explore before or after going to Playland, the PNE Fair, Fright Nights and other popular events running at this massive event space.

You’ll find the East Village at the heart of two beloved historic Vancouver neighbourhoods, Hastings-Sunrise and Grandview-Woodland. It runs roughly between Commercial Drive and Renfrew, with East Hastings as its bustling main street.

Look north and you’ll be greeted by views of the mountains and Burrard Inlet, while all around, you’ll come across lively eateries and breweries like Parallel 49. Here are suggestions for discovering your new favourite local spots.
