Yaletown, Vancouver
Historic charm meets urban chic
Once a commercial warehouse and railyard district, Yaletown, Vancouver built on its heritage bones, has transformed itself into an energetic, trendy neighbourhood.

Yaletown is the permanent home of the engine that pulled the first transcontinental train into Vancouver
Originally situated at the end of the Canadian Pacific Railway, Yaletown played a key role in Vancouver’s early development. During British Columbia’s gold rush era in the 1800s, it was a hub for trade and transport before falling into decline by the mid-20th century.
The clatter of trains and industry has given way to clinking glasses and lively patios in Yaletown.

In 1986, Yaletown Vancouver was revitalized as the site of the World’s Fair (Expo 86), which helped transform the area into the contemporary urban hub it is today. The district is now flanked by False Creek and the downtown core, offering easy access to Vancouver’s famed seawall — perfect for a morning run or a scenic walk.
