Kitsilano, Vancouver
Kits is the west coast, best coast
With Kitsilano Beach at its heart, this laid-back yet lively community radiates its 1960’s hippy roots.

Kits Pool
The longest saltwater pool in North America
Kitsilano is named after the Squamish chief, August Jack Khatsahlano, a renowned medicine man. This area has been home to the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples since time immemorial.
For more than 5 years, Kits has been voted “Vancouver’s Best Neighbourhood” by Lonely Planet.

More than ice cream, sunbathing, and sand, Kitsilano beach effortlessly blends bustle with relaxation. For the uninitiated, you can expect plenty of beachfront activities, heritage homes on tree-lined streets, and independent boutique stores. Stroll around town with an ice cream, grab a paddleboard or watch beach volleyball. Not a fan of the ocean? Take a dip in the Kitsilano Pool.
