Sprinkled in some of the pieces in the list below!

I'm Ali, a Vancouver-based writer, content strategist, and the voice and face behind Seated Perspectives, a platform dedicated to disrupting disability narratives and celebrating disabled joy. Most recently, I have had the pleasure of becoming a contributor for Destination Vancouver.

I grew up on a farm in Argentina, running wild with my siblings and a pack of Labradors, before moving to Canada for high school shortly after the accident that made me a full-time wheelchair user. Now, I live in Vancouver, British Columbia with my husband and our two dogs. You’ll usually find me enjoying the view of False Creek from our balcony, discovering new (and old favorite) Vancouver restaurants, or getting delightfully lost in a cross-stitch project with RuPaul's Drag Race on in the background.

As a disabled woman with almost a decade in the city, my writing naturally blends a love for the city with a lens on access. Whether I’m spotlighting a Vancouver attraction or reflecting on the complexities of navigating public spaces as a disabled individual, I aim to share stories that are personal, practical, and community-minded. You’ll find my work is curious, candid, and rooted in lived experience-while also acknowledging that my perspective is just one of many within the disability community.

I believe Vancouver’s best stories are in the small details, the unexpected moments of connection, and the joy of finding spaces that make it easy for everyone to enjoy them.
