If you’re looking forward to the soccer matches during FIFA World Cup 2026™, you might want to put on your radar the many events surrounding the tournament. That’s because the World Cup is more than just about sport, it’s also about connecting people from around the world. Here in Vancouver, you’re invited to a city-wide party, where local neighbourhoods come together to cheer on teams during fun community events.

Here are some ideas for how to have a good time World Cup-style!

Indigenous World Cup Events

Artist Talk with Jamin Zuroski

  • What: Jamin Zuroski, a ʼNa̱mǥis First Nations artist with Ukrainian and Polish heritage, is the talent behind the FIFA Vancouver Host City Poster. He will talk about how he combined both Indigenous and football culture into beautiful art. Register for this free event.

Snotty Nose Rez Kids with Indian City at FIFA Fan Festival™

  • What: Two talented Indigenous musical groups take to the stage at FIFA Fan Festival™ Vancouver on June 21. First up is Indian City who use music as a common language between Indigenous and non-Indigenous folks. Hip hop duo Snotty Nose Rez Kids will be headlining that night, bringing their powerful storytelling to soccer fans.

Richmond Celebrates Soccer

  • What: Get to know other cities in Metro Vancouver during FIFA World Cup 2026™, like Richmond, which has over a month of programming called Richmond Celebrates Soccer. Play traditional Indigenous games at a community park, try scoring goals in a soccer zone at a local block party or do soccer-themed crafts at an outdoor viewing party.

  • When: June 12 to July 19

Canyon Kick-Off

  • What: As a nod to World Cup, you’ll see brightly coloured national flags and a huge soccer ball hanging from Capilano Suspension Bridge. Besides decorating the bridge, Capilano is going all-out soccer around the park with themed games and photo installations that will keep the kids busy.

Soccer & Technology from the FIFA Museum

  • What: The kids might love soccer as a sport but do they know the science and techno wizardry behind it? Visit Science World to check out a special exhibition on everything from refereeing to the high-speed cameras that catch all the plays.

Food Tours for Soccer Fans

  • What: Indulge your love for soccer and food through special Vancouver Foodie Tours for soccer fans. You can squeeze in a gourmet tour on game day since tours keep you close to the main action. Whether you want to taste your way through Gastown, downtown or Granville Island Market, one thing’s for sure. You won’t arrive at a World Cup match hungry!

Gastown Bar Crawl: World Cup Edition

  • What: While you probably don’t want to do a Gastown Bar Crawl for matches you want to be laser-focused on, these roaming events will definitely get you in the World Cup spirit. You’ll visit four Gastown bars, with a shot at each place as you watch the games. Bingo contests and challenges will get you bonding with fellow (tipsy) soccer fans.

World Cup Watch Parties

Netherlands House

  • What: Get set for a good time at East Van’s Container Brewing, aka Netherlands House during FIFA World Cup 2026™. You’ll quickly discover that the Dutch know how to let loose, as you drink Football Pilsner and snack on bitterballen (deep fried breaded stew). Tickets are available here.

  • When: June 14, 20, 25, 29 (check for more dates)

Oyster Bar Watch Parties

  • What: Who knew oysters pair so well with soccer? MICHELIN-recommended Fanny Bay Oyster Bar, just near BC Place, is hosting a bunch of first-come-first served watch parties. Follow the action on the big screens while you snack on food inspired by participating nations. And of course, make sure to slurp down fresh oysters after each goal (you might be downing a lot if it’s a high scoring match).

Granville Island Watch Party
