Spring in Vancouver is lovely for many reasons, but especially because of the cherry blossoms sharing their pops of pink around the city. It’s a very photogenic time of year and these are some great spots to find some peace at a crazy time in the world.

UBC Botanical Garden

Explore Canada’s oldest university botanical garden and take in the beauty of the Tai Kaku blossoms at UBC Botanical Garden. This botanical garden is also home the David C. Lam Asian Garden and over 400 different species of rhododendrons, a demonstration food garden and the Greenheart TreeWalk adventure.

Yaletown

Trendy and industrial Yaletown is known for it’s industrial brick buildings, foodie favourite restaurants and chic boutiques, but the cherry blossoms really make this neighbourhood pop. Take a stroll around the residential areas to capture Kanzan blossoms on your smartphone and then wander down to David Lam park to view the young Akebono trees.

Stanley Park

Take in the beauty of the cherry blossom trees in Stanley Park. Stanley Park features Shirotae, Akebono and Shirofugen blossom trees in the Rose Garden and Japanese Memorial Garden. Take an afternoon to get some fresh air and get your step along the Seawall and the park paths.

VanDusen Botanical Garden

Take in the beauty of the blossoms at VanDusen Botanical Garden, an inspiring 55 acre outdoor oasis in the city with over 7,500 plant species and varieties. VanDusen is also a perfect place to spot and photograph local wildlife and relax in a serene setting in the heart of Vancouver.
