The Best Chain Restaurants in Vancouver

In Vancouver, we’re best known for our impressive culinary scene, and our chain restaurants don't disappoint either. These chain restaurants are some of the best restaurants of Vancouver, and we’ve rounded up the perfect mix of dishes you can find all over the city.

Cactus Club

Cactus Club Cafe has been a Vancouver staple since its first signature yellow umbrella popped up in North Vancouver in 1988. With its lounge-style interior and trendy menu, it strikes the perfect balance of casual fine dining. Their wine list features some of BC's best, while the food covers all your cravings. They've got pizza, sushi bites, and tacos, but they're best known for their signature butternut squash ravioli. With truffle butter, mascarpone, prawns, and golden sage, it practically melts in your mouth. Cactus has 22 locations across the Lower Mainland, and our favourite is the one by English Bay Beach, where the views do all the talking.

Earls

Earls is the chain that could be straight out of Architectural Digest. The sleek designs at all 11 Metro Vancouver locations make sitting in a booth during happy hour feel effortlessly cool. The food leans into West Coast vibes, like fresh local oysters on a bed of ice, or their Ahi tuna tataki bites. Now picture that with a side martini for half the price during their weekly happy hour specials (we know we can). Earls is also big on sustainability, sourcing their seafood locally and eliminating single-use plastics, so you can enjoy one of the best restaurants of Vancouver, while helping the planet.

White Spot

Most Vancouverites can tell you about their first BC Ferries experience, and it likely includes a burger from White Spot. As Vancouver's oldest chain restaurant, founded by Nat Bailey, White Spot has been a staple for families and nostalgic locals alike. They’ve perfected the classic cheeseburger-and-fries combo, using locally sourced beef and their signature Triple O sauce. Get cozy in their leather-green booths, and kids can dig into the iconic Pirate Pak kids' meal, complete with a tall vanilla milkshake (yes, adults are included here, too). White Spot has 13 locations, including at the airport, so you can enjoy a legendary burger before you’re off on your next adventure.

Tap and Barrel

Tap and Barrel was built with Vancouver at the heart, prioritizing scenic patios with oceanside views, starting in Olympic Village and now expanding to seven locations across Metro Vancouver. Local is a tradition here, with BC brews on tap and comfort food that warms you up on a rainy day. From wings and burgers to pizzas, everything is made to share and enjoy with a view. We especially love their Korean fried chicken sliders with kimchi-flavoured pickles for that zippy kick the whole table can devour. Beyond the guaranteed stunning views, Tap and Barrel’s open-concept space is perfect for hosting events and large groups.

The Old Spaghetti Factory has made little changes to its look since its opening in Gastown in the 70’s, and instead perfected its signature old-school look. Just like their all-included meals with never-ending linguine, fresh sourdough, minestrone soup, and a heaping scoop of ice cream, all at a low price. Their menu is full of North American Italian classics like Fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Parmigiana, and more. Enjoy the nostalgic vibe with stained glass windows at all three locations, and a vintage trolley car inside the Gastown spot, making it one of the best restaurants in Vancouver for anyone craving hearty, comforting Italian.

No matter if you’re local or a visitor, the best restaurants of Vancouver are waiting to be tried, and there's probably one just around the corner waiting for you!
