Whether you're spending Valentine's Day with your partner or your friends, you've got lots of fun and romantic options. Mix and match outdoor activities, restaurant recommendations, and more to make the perfect DIY Valentine's Day itinerary.

Morning

Start your day with a romantic walk along the False Creek Seawall. Warm up with a cup of decadent hot chocolate from one of the local businesses participating in the Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival, which wraps up on Valentine's Day. Use their virtual map to find a cafe along your route. After your walk, detour a few blocks to Beaucoup Bakery to pick up a gift box full of treats from their Be My Valentine Collection. Choose from decadent treats like bonbons, macarons, madeleines, and more.

If you'd rather relax, head to the spa. The Nordic Spa at the Fairmont Pacific Rim has a hot tub, cold plunge baths, a cedar plank sauna, and heated relaxation areas with incredible mountain and ocean views. Or enjoy a Middle Eastern-style experience at Miraj Hammam Spa. Book a couples package to enjoy private steam and exfoliation treatments.

Lunch

If you want something quick, grab lunch from WA-BAGEL, a Japanese-style bagelry near Burrard Station. They have sweet options like matcha cheesecake and savoury flavours including Ume Bacon. During February, you can order their Valentine's-themed strawberry choco sando. It has cocoa dough and strawberry cream cheese filling.

Or spoil your date with Valentine's-themed afternoon tea at Bacchus on weekends in February. Sample over a dozen sweet and savoury menu items alongside your choice of 11 premium loose-leaf teas.

Stroll through a romantic forest of twinkling lights at Love Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. The 450-foot suspension bridge and the surrounding park are decked out with lights and Valentine's-themed decor, perfect for photo ops. Enjoy live music at the Logger's Grill stage or pop in to the Cliff House Restaurant for their signature dark chocolate molten cake.

Or rent some skates, then glide around an outdoor rink while holding hands with your Valentine. The Robson Square Ice Rink in downtown Vancouver and the Shipyards Skate Plaza in North Vancouver both have covered outdoor ice skating. Or head up to the top of Grouse Mountain to skate on their mountaintop pond.

Dinner

Get cozy in a booth at Meo in Chinatown, then dig in to their six course Valentine's menu. The meal includes Asian takes on classic dishes such as duck confit with caramelized miso and raspbery lychee sorbet.

Enjoy a four-course Valentine's Day tasting menu at Bacchus at the Wedgewood Hotel and Spa on February 14 and 15. It includes elevated options like poached East Coast lobster and confit Ling cod. Finish your meal with Baba au Rum, a classic French dessert, that is designed for two to share.

Transport yourself to Spain at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. The Romance in Rhythm: A Flamenco Celebration event takes place on February 14. Indulge in a Spanish-inspired tapas feast while you enjoy live music and performances by flamenco dancers.

If you want a romantic night in, order the Valentine Take-Out Box for Two from Minami in Yaletown. It includes their signature Aburi sushi along with premium nigiri.
