Pop-Up Markets to Visit This Summer in Vancouver
Shipyards Night Market, North Vancouver.

The sun is out, the air is warm, and with an empty tote bag, you’re off to a pop-up market on a perfect summer’s day. Sounds nice, right?

There’s something about a pop-up market that feels synonymous with summer. From artisan crafts and locally made goods to sizzling street food and lively night markets, these open-air gatherings bring together some of the city’s best makers, flavours and creative energy. You might come for a browse, but stay for the bites, music and atmosphere.

Whether you’re hunting for one-of-a-kind finds, sampling your way through food stalls or soaking up the buzz of a warm evening market, here are some of the best pop-up markets in Vancouver to check out this season.

Pop-Up & Craft Markets

Feeling crafty? There’s no shortage of places to shop for handmade goods and support local makers at pop-up markets in Vancouver this summer.

Got Craft | Summer Market at Concord Pacific

Celebrating all things independent craft and design, Got Craft is one of the city’s favourite pop-up markets for thoughtfully made pieces. The venue (wherever it’s hosted) is always filled to the brim with talent, and you can expect a curated lineup of local artists and makers, alongside food, drinks, music and plenty of feel-good energy.

The 2026 summer market is set for August 22 at Concord Pacific Place, alongside the Concord Pacific Dragonboat Festival, so mark your calendar for a fun day spent browsing by the waterfront.

Set against the lush backdrop of one of Vancouver’s most beautiful green spaces, a visit to the VanDusen Summer Market by Portobello West is part shopping excursion, part green space escape.

This market’s a go-to for thoughtfully made, locally designed goods with a well-curated mix of artists, designers, small-batch brands and unique finds that make perfect souvenirs or momentos.

Hosted inside the Floral Hall at VanDusen Botanical Garden (next to the Visitor Centre), the 2026 market takes place on Sunday, July 5. Admission is free, so you can drop in, browse and make an outing of it.

Celebrating 20 years, Portobello West continues its legacy of championing local makers and fostering a vibrant community around conscious shopping. What started at the doors of Rocky Mountaineer Station has grown into a beloved community tradition, where local makers shine and visitors gather to celebrate creativity, connection, and conscious shopping.

Made in the 604 Market

It’s all in the name, Made in the 604 brings together a mix of creative makers from across Vancouver’s iconic area code, alongside small businesses from around BC. It’s a market event known for its trendy, community-driven atmosphere and is a great place to discover everything from handmade ceramics to vintage pieces and locally made treats.

Each event has a fun, social feel to it, often set in character-filled venues. Their upcoming summer market will be from June 6-7 at Heritage Hall on Main Street, a perfect stop during a Mount Pleasant neighbourhood wander (and it’s pet-friendly, too).

Junction Public Market

Junction Market, Vancouver.

Part food destination, part local market, Junction Public Market is a lively summer hub. Eat, shop, and hang out in the open air here, tucked into Vancouver’s Railtown district. There’s a rotating lineup of local vendors, with vintage finds, artisan-made goods, bites and drinks.

You’ll likely go to casually browse, then end up staying a while, whether it’s for lunch, to catch up with friends, or just to soak up the laid-back, community feel over picnic tables, music and a steady buzz of activity.

The summer market is on from April 30 to September 7 in 2026, with vendors on and the Shipping Container’s licensed patio open from Tuesdays to Sundays. It all happens in Granville Square, which is easy to walk to from plenty of downtown hotels.

Night Markets

After a day spent in the sun, where better to fill your belly than a lively night market?

Richmond Night Market

The Richmond Night Market is one of the largest night markets in North America and is just a short Skytrain ride or drive from downtown Vancouver.

On weekend evenings in the summer, this spot comes alive with international flavours (over 500 food options ranging from classic night market snacks to over-the-top, photo-worthy items), over 100 retail booths, games, live entertainment and even a zipline. If a full sensory experience is what you’re looking for, this is it.

Shipyards Night Market

Shipyards Night Market, North Vancouver.

On Friday evenings from May to September, Lower Lonsdale’s bumping Shiyard’s District fills with food trucks, a beer garden, live music, a lineup of local vendors and a whole lot of fun.

The Shipyards Night Market is set right on the waterfront, making for city skyline views and sunset backdrops. It’s also just steps from the SeaBus, making it an easy 15-minute ride from downtown’s Waterfront Station.

The Vegan Night Market

Vegans (or anyone who appreciates good plant-based food and ocean views), rejoice! Canada’s only vegan night market takes place in Vancouver’s stunning Kitsilano neighbourhood at Locarno Beach.

In 2026, it runs every other Thursday from May 28 until Sept 3. Visit for the delicious plant-based dishes, stay for the seabreeze, shopping, beach volleyball watching, and tequila and espresso martini sipping.

Street Events

Looking for something a little bigger? Vancouver’s summer street events turn entire neighbourhoods into energetic open-air markets.

Italian Day on the Drive

For anyone with a love of pizza, pasta, or just that quintessential lively Italian energy, Italian Day on the Drive is one of the best ways to experience Vancouver's Little Italy.

All of Commercial Drive, one of Vancouver and the world’s coolest streets, shuts down to make way for an all-day celebration. Local restaurants spill out onto the street, live music stages are set up, and endless food, drink and entertainment are waiting to be had along the way.

In 2026, it takes place on Sunday, June 14, right as Vancouver hosts matches for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, adding even more excitement to the city.

Khatsalano Street Party

Khatsalano Street Party is beachside Kitsilano’s big, bold and a little whimsical free music and arts festival. It’s a local summer highlight where, for one day only, West 4th Avenue trades traffic for a stretch of live music, local vendors, food and art.

Multiple stages featuring various favourite and up-and-coming artists, and pop-up shopping and food line the street. In 2026, it returns on Saturday, July 11. Go ready to snack, shop and soak up the sunny energy.

So, come hungry and don’t forget a tote, because Vancouver’s summer markets won’t disappoint.
