Inside Martini Town: The Ultimate Hallmark Getaway

Inside Martini Town: The Ultimate Hallmark Getaway
Looking for a little holiday fun straight out of a Hallmark movie? Look no further than Langley.
Forget everything you think you know about Langley, and plan your next destination over to Martini Town, a converted movie set lot by Martini Film Studios just outside of Vancouver. Martini Town is home to many movie and TV backdrops like The Wedding Cottage, Schmigadoon!, and other Hallmark classics. Turns out, Vancouver isn’t the only scene stealer for your favourite flicks.
The Merry and Bright Festival
Every winter during the holiday season, Martini Studios trades in production for peppermints and pure Christmas magic during the Merry and Bright Festival. From November 21st to December 31st, come see this movie backlot be transformed into a world of festive spirit, glowing with twinkling lights and faux snow that sticks to the ground. It’ll make you feel like you’re inside a snow globe!
The Merry & Bright Festival is the kind of place that’ll have moms and daughters living out their Hallmark Christmas fantasy. Here, you’ll be able to walk around various sets and snap perfect movie moments in front of the local mom and pop diner (where Riverdale was rumoured to be filmed), or even on the cobblestone steps of a New York City apartment facade. The festival also features actors around the sets, like Victorian-style Christmas carolers performing outside the courthouse, and even Santa’s elves, who make rounds capturing perfect family photo ops with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
The Merry and Bright festival also has a market lane, with local vendors selling handmade gifts and tasty treats, made for stocking stuffers and souvenir collectors. And you won’t leave hungry, with food trucks serving up warming favourites like fresh woodfire pizza, hearty Texas BBQ, and hot mini cinnamon donuts to cradle between your mitts. Be sure to also stop by Martini Cafe for hot apple cider and hot chocolate to really savour those holiday flavours.
You’ll wanna book your tickets ahead of time, as they don’t do gate sales. Get your tickets here.
Adult tickets are $24, Youth tickets are $18, Kids tickets are $12, and Senior tickets are $20.

Check out Fort Langley
And if you’re looking for more movie-like historic charm, Fort Langley is a must-see for small-town bliss. Fort Langley is just a 30-minute drive from the Merry and Bright Festival and is best known for being the original Hudson’s Bay fur trading post. History buffs should check out the Fort Langley National Historic Site for historical reenactments of blacksmiths at work, fur-trader cabins, and letting the kids try their hand at barrel-making.
The town itself has that small-town sparkle, with local cafes and boutique shopping. Our favourites include Wendel’s Bookstore and Cafe for a cozy winter hideout spot, and Gasoline Alley for cute antique shops to pop into. And if time’s on your side, stroll through the Fort to Fort trail, a scenic trail that’s surrounded by gorgeous greenery and wrapped around the Fraser River.
Martini Town in Langley proves BC is the destination for holiday joy and spending time with your loved ones during the holiday season. The snow may be faux, but the memories you’ll make at the Merry and Bright festival are definitely the real deal.
