Get into the holiday spirit with festive light displays around Vancouver. You can visit familiar attractions decked out for the season as well as pop-up holiday light experiences designed to dazzle.

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

Stroll high above the depths of Capilano Canyon surrounded by festive holiday lights. Canyon Lights at the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is on between November 22, 2024 and January 19, 2025. The entire park is covered in twinkling lights including the suspension bridge, Cliffwalk, and Treetops Adventure. A single-day admission ticket gets you access to all the attractions. Book tickets in advance.

Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden

Wander the paths of VanDusen Botanical Garden to enjoy over 1 million holiday lights during the annual Festival of Lights. This year’s version is on between November 29 and January 5. The entire garden is covered in lights and there is a Dancing Lights show every 20 minutes. There is also a special sensory-friendly event on December 3rd. Reserve tickets in advance.

PNE Winter Fair

Celebrate winter at the PNE Winter Fair on December 6 to 8th and 12th to 23rd. Wander through the Winter Lights displays, stopping for great photo ops. It includes a light tunnel, a Candy Cane Lane themed-area, an illuminated train, and lots more. After, hit the skating rink, warm up with holiday treats, or meet Santa. Book tickets in advance.

Lights to the Lodge at Cypress Mountain

Head up to Cypress Mountain to enjoy a snowy winter wonderland festooned with holiday lights at Lights to the Lodge. Strap on rented snowshoes, then set out on an easy one-kilometre hike through the illuminated old-growth forest. Warm up at the half-way mark with a cup of hot chocolate at the Hollyburn Lodge. Lights to the Lodge opens on December 13 and runs until February. Book your timeslot in advance.

Light Walk at Grouse Mountain

Every year the top of Grouse Mountain transforms into the Peak of Christmas. The highlight for holiday light lovers is the Light Walk. Start by walking through a glowing tunnel of lights, then follow the path through the forest and around Blue Grouse Lake to discover more holiday light installations. The snow can be slippery, so bring snow cleats or rent snowshoes at the Peak Chalet. The Light Walk is included with your mountain admission ticket.

Lights at Lafarge

Follow the 1.2-kilometre-long path around Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park to enjoy holiday lights at Lights at Lafarge. The event runs from November 22 until February and the lights are on between 4 pm and 10 pm daily. This is a free event, so it can get busy at peak times. Try to go on a weekday or during off-peak hours before 6 pm or after 8 pm. There is limited parking, but the Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain station is at the southwest corner of the park.

Glow Gardens Langley

Glow Gardens Langley returns from November 21 to December 28 this year. This immersive holiday experience includes over 1 million lights spread over 350 meters of garden paths. You can also snap photos with the three-story Crystal Palace, ride the Glow Train, and take a turn on the LED swings. This year’s event has an Enchanted Forest theme with glowing trees, fairies, and woodland creatures. Book tickets in advance.

Bear Creek Christmas Train

Each holiday season the Bear Creek Train in Surrey transforms into the Bear Creek Christmas Train. Take a ride past holiday decor and sparkling lights. The daytime train runs between December 1 and 31 and includes a visit with Santa. Daytime tickets are first-come, first-served. Take the night train between December 4 and 29 to enjoy the twinkling lights under the night sky and enjoy a visit from the Grinch. Book in advance for nighttime train rides.
