Vancouver has some of the most vibrant cultural and culinary festivals happening throughout the summer. Gather the whole family together and make a trip out to different neighbourhoods, enjoy the sunshine, and embrace the best of food and culture the city has to offer from now to August.

Before you head out for the day, make sure to plan ahead, buy tickets in advance if needed, take transit or plan your route, arrive early to avoid long lines or any delays, stay hydrated, bring plenty of sunscreen, and support local vendors where you can.

Greek Day @ West Broadway (Macdonald to Blenheim) – June 22

Head over to Kitsilano for a festive celebration of Greek culture, food, music, dancing, and community when the street shuts down for a good old-fashioned family block party.

Vancouver Ice Cream Festival – June 20–Aug. 4

Take your own self-guided tour of Vancouver’s most irresistible artisanal ice cream parlours, gelato shops, cafés, and frozen dessert offerings. Try these limited-time special creations and signature items to satisfy your sweet tooth and support local.

Summer Market at the Met returns for free to Metropolis at Metrotown July 3–6 with 15+ food vendors, live music, family activities, and interstellar photo ops—right outside Metrotown Station.

Evo Summer Cinema @ Second Beach – July 8, 15, 22, 29, Aug. 5, 12, 19 & 26

Enjoy all your favourite blockbuster movies projected outdoors under the stars for free every Tuesday throughout the summer. Bring out the family and dance to pre-movie DJ sets and eat from food trucks beforehand.

VCBW Craft Beer & Music Festival @ PNE Fairgrounds – July 12

Sample the absolute best in local and international craft breweries, food vendors, and live music all in one place in the hot summer weather. Rock out with a beer in hand and stay for the specially curated chicken wing festival.

Carnaval del Sol @ Jonathan Rogers Park – July 11-13

Commemorate the Pacific Northwest’s biggest Latin American celebration with fun live performances, salsa music, authentic street food, and festive dancing. Inspired by the anticipation for next year's World Cup, the festival will feature a high-energy sports plaza experience with street soccer competitions and fan zones.

The Cup @ Hastings Racecourse – July 19

Put on your fanciest ascot and biggest summer hat to spend a day at the races, where horse racing meets high fashion, mixology, and music. Come get fancy for one of the most stylish events of the summer, full of trackside revelry, international DJs, and heart-pounding thoroughbred racing.

Punchbowl Festival of Cocktails & Tacos @ PNE Fairgrounds – July 26

Gather for a tasting of premium summer cocktails, spirits, beers, and food creations. Celebrate with headliners and four-time Juno-winning local rap group Swollen Members while drinking some devilishly creative libations and lots and lots of tacos.

Gear up the city’s joyful queer celebration of inclusivity, featuring food vendors, drag shows, music stages, and community booths that culminate in the big Sunday parade.
