Get ready for a romantic night of music in a gorgeous Ming Dynasty-styled Chinese garden. The 23rd annual S.K. Lee Enchanted Evenings Concert Series at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is in full swing, with different artists appearing every Thursday night until August 25, 2016.

If you haven’t yet visited the Garden (or it’s been some time since you were last there), make sure to include it in your summer plans. Designed according to the principles of classical Chinese gardens, the space is a harmonious bringing together of jade hued water, Chinese and local plants, beautiful weathered rocks, and architecture that blends with its organic surroundings. Celebrating its 30th year in 2016 and named the World’s Top City Garden by National Geographic, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is truly a special place to visit.

This summer, on Thursday nights, this magical environment transforms into an outdoor live music venue. Enchanted Evenings are the perfect date idea, especially with the option of also booking a pre-concert deluxe picnic dinner. In the case of rain, the music will move to the breathtaking Hall of One Hundred Rivers, with picnics to be enjoyed in the Ming Dynasty indoor halls.

Doors open at 7pm, allowing you to have a magical meal in the sunset Garden. There are a range of different picnic options, from a mid-summer snack ($11 per person) of a turkey breast sandwich, veggies and ranch dip, and a ginger molasses cookie; to the Silk Road Special ($24 per person) with zesty free-range chicken, tomato and green bean salad, a salad of organic greens, and a flourless chocolate cake. There are also gluten-free options. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as other snacks are also available during the one-hour pre-show time.
