Canyon Lights at the Capilano Suspension Bridge Light up the North Shore
The Capilano Suspension Bridge is getting a dazzling makeover this Thursday, November 24, 2016 to kickstart the holiday season in style. Now in its 11th year, the Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park has become one of the most popular events of the season.
Hundreds of thousands of miniature lights transform the park into a sparkling winter wonderland that keep both local residents and visitors from all over the world returning, year after year. When you enter the park, it’s no surprise why!

During the Canyon Lights event, the suspension bridge, Treetops Adventure, Cliffwalk, the rainforest and canyon are transformed into a world of festive lights and visual enchantment. You’ll also get a chance to see the world’s tallest living Christmas tree (153 feet tall and still growing!), search for glowing owls, enjoy a holiday band, decorate gingerbread cookies, make Christmas crafts, and take family photos throughout the park.
You’ll want to make sure you bring your camera, there are countless selfie-stick opportunities, and the suspension bridge itself offers an amazing backdrop for a stunning nighttime portrait. If you want to avoid the crowds that build-up on busier nights, it’s suggested to go to the park on weekdays prior to December 16.

The park itself is open from 11:00 am, but the holiday activities begin at 4:00 pm when it starts to get dark. The gates are open until 9:00 pm each night, so there is plenty of nighttime hours for you to glide through the spectacular set-up.
If you don’t want to drive, there will also be a free shuttle operating from Canada Place in Downtown Vancouver to the Suspension Bridge every 30 minutes between 11am and 9pm during the duration of Canyon Lights.
