The arrival of spring means warmer weather, spring flowers, and fresh garden veggies. Vancouver's farmer's markets are starting to open up, offering delicious local produce, crafts, baked goods, and more.

Visiting a farmer's market is a great way to support local BC producers while shopping for dinner ingredients or picking out a memento of your trip to Vancouver. The markets feature different vendors each week and some have live music, so it's worth making repeat visits to see what new goodies you can discover.

The Trout Lake Farmer's Market in John Hendry Park is Vancouver's largest and most popular farmer's market. The market takes over the parking area at the north end of Trout Lake on Saturdays between April 5 and October 25, 2025. Each week you can find over 65 stalls selling produce, handmade goods, freshly prepared food, and more.

The market is a quick walk from nearby Commercial Drive-Broadway Skytrain Station. While in the neighbourhood, take a walk down Commercial Drive, known as The Drive to locals. This diverse street is the heart of East Vancouver and has a powerful history as both Little Italy and an LGBTQ neighbourhood. You can find bohemian boutiques, family-run delis, vegan groceries, cuisine from around the world, and lots more.

Running every Saturday from April 5 to October 25, 2025, the Riley Park Farmer's Market is home to over 35 farmers, producers, and food trucks each week. The market is held in Riley Park, across the street from Nat Bailey Stadium.

Riley Park is a few blocks away from Main Street in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, so it's easy to shop at the boutiques or eat at one of the cafes after your market visit.

Or walk a few blocks west from the market to Queen Elizabeth Park. It is situated on Vancouver's highest point so it has panoramic views of the city and the North Shore Mountains. The sunken quarry gardens are a must-see during the spring and summer when the flowers are in bloom.

The market is an easy walk from most downtown hotels, so it's a great spot to browse the stalls with coffee and pastry. Buy some fruit, cheese, charcuterie, and bread at the market, then stroll down to Sunset Beach or English Bay Beach for a picnic with a water view.

In 2025, the Mount Pleasant Farmer's Market opens on May 19 and runs every Sunday until October 27th. Find the market at Guelph Park on Brunswick Street at 7th Avenue. Locals call this park "Dude Chilling Park" after a large wooden sculpture of a relaxed man.

The market is in a neighbourhood sometimes called Brewery Creek because Vancouver's earliest breweries opened along a creek running parallel to Main Street. Today, the area is home to several microbreweries including Main Street Brewing Steamworks, and Brassneck Brewing.
