View of a calm blue lake with distant mountains under a clear sky, framed by rocks and trees in the foreground.

Overview

The Horseshoe Bay Lookout is a spot just off the main road where you have an amazing view of the water and the ferries going in and out of Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. Called Chai-hai by the Squamish people, Horseshoe Bay was developed as a summer resort in 1909, but it was the arrival of the PGE railway in 1914 that made it a popular recreational destination in the ensuing years.
