The Orpheum Theatre
The interior shots of the Pinnacle Theatre in this episode were actually taken inside Vancouver's iconic Orpheum Theatre. This historic venue has been a key part of the city's entertainment scene since 1927. Originally the largest vaudeville house in Vancouver, the Orpheum later became a movie palace before evolving into the world-class concert hall we know today. Over the years, it’s hosted royalty, political leaders, and countless celebrities.
The real-life Paramount theater, the theatre the Pinnacle is based on, was actually designed by the same architect as the Orpheum, making it the ultimate stunt double. No stranger to the screen, the Orpheum has also made appearances in The Magicians, Supergirl, Timeless, and many more. These days, the Orpheum is home to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, hosting everything from classical performances to modern pop concerts. Fans can also join one of the theatre’s free tours for a behind-the-scenes look at this timeless venue and its history.
Chinatown
The scene where Ellie and Dina find the “Feel Her Love” graffiti on their way to Lakehill Hospital was filmed in Vancouver’s Chinatown. One of the city’s most historic and vibrant neighborhoods, Chinatown has been a cultural hub since the 1890s. As North America’s third-largest Chinatown and a designated National Historic Site of Canada, the area blends old and new—where traditional apothecaries, markets, and heritage buildings stand alongside trendy cocktail bars and acclaimed restaurants. Its unique architecture and atmospheric streets make it a favorite filming location in Hollywood North.
A few notable landmarks in the area include the iconic Millennium Gate flanked by stone lions, symbolizing a journey through time, linking past and future. And just around the corner, the serene Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden offers a peaceful escape, with koi ponds and winding paths that might also feel familiar from shows like The Flash and Arrow. While exploring, don’t miss Chinatown’s incredible food and drink scene. Chinatown BBQ is a local favorite for classic Cantonese barbecue, while New Town Bakery is known for their world-famous steam buns. For a drink, head to the award-winning Keefer Bar, known for its apothecary-inspired cocktails and moody, intimate vibe.
If you want to dive deeper into its rich history, guided tours like Historical Chinatown Tours or A Wok Around Chinatown offer an insider’s perspective.
Stanley Park
Ellie and Dina find themselves trapped in the woods between the W.L.F. and the Seraphites, a perfect scene to utilize the beautiful west coast rainforest in iconic Stanley Park. The park’s old growth trees and dense natural foliage make this a great place for the Seraphites to hide out. In a video published by Max, Young Mazino, who portrays Jesse, said the park “felt like a fairy tale environment” which made the juxtaposition with the Seraphites even more terrifying.
While the scenes shot in this episode were taken off the beaten path, there is still lots to see in this 1,000-acre urban rainforest. The Hollow Tree is a good place to hide if you’re on the run from the Seraphites, but you also won’t want to miss the famous Totem Poles or Prospect Point. If you’re visiting during the summer, head to one of the nearby beaches or rent a bike and ride the 9-kilometre seawall loop that wraps around the park to take in epic views of the North Shore Mountains, Burrard Inlet, and English Bay beach.
East Van
Some of the industrial areas near Lakehill Hospital were filmed on the 400 block of Raymur street in Vancouver’s Eastside. East Van is a magnet for all things creative and a hub for murals, live music, and public markets. The location in this episode pushes up against Vancouver’s industrial waterfront district, which makes it the perfect backdrop for the suburban-meets-urban environment of the Lakehill area.
The overpass that the trio ran under to escape the W.L.F. was dressed with foliage, broken cars, and graffiti. If you’re visiting this East Van filming location, start by exploring the area’s thriving craft beer scene. Affectionately nicknamed the Yeast Van Ale Trail, this pocket of the city is home to a high concentration of local breweries, all within walking distance. After a flight or two, head a few blocks east to Commercial Drive, a culturally rich neighbourhood full of independent shops, diverse food, and a tight-knit community of artists and locals.
