Stanley Park gets huge kudos for being one of the great urban recreation areas in North America. But it has some pretty darn good food, too. Ranging from the upscale divine to the quick and casual, it's easy to find the right dining experience for a romantic dinner for two or a midday snack.
With a breathtaking view of English Bay, The Teahouse serves fine-dining fare in an exceptional setting. Featuring local ingredients, the menu offers a fusion of West Coast flavours with a touch of French flair, including salmon, one of B.C.’s signature dishes. The wine list is as impressive as the views. While dinners shine, the weekend brunch is equally as big a hit. Did we mention the view?
On the more casual side is Stanley's Park Bar & Grill, which features an immense patio that juts out from the Stanley Park Pavilion and can seat about 200. While also focusing heavily on local ingredients, the seasonal restaurant (open March through September) features a great beer and wine list, burgers and more traditional entrées. It overlooks the rose gardens surrounding the Pavilion.
Prospect Point Café also offers casual fare including salads, sandwiches, burgers and a seafood-heavy entrée list. It has a large patio overlooking the Burrard Inlet, the Lions Gate Bridge and the North Shore mountains. It also includes an express café for a quick bite while passing through the park.
