Storm vs. Dream
The four-time WNBA champion Seattle Storm will meet the Atlanta Dream in this exciting special matchup. Fans can look forward to seeing the Storm's 2016 MVP Nneka Ogwumike face off against the Dream's 2022 Rookie of the Year, Rhyne Howard.
One of Canada's very own, Laeticia Amihere hailing from Mississauga, will also be competing in the match for the Dream, who are coming off their second straight post-season appearance. The Storm just celebrated their 25th anniversary season and 19th playoff appearance.
This past season, both Edmonton and Toronto hosted sold-out off-season games. The 2025 WNBA season officially begins on May 16.
Ticket info and other game details will be announced in the coming months. Fans can register for pre-sale ticket access notifications at WNBA Canada's website.
Sports City
Vancouver is fast becoming a West Coast Canadian destination for some of the continent's biggest sports action and events, including hosting seven World Cup soccer matches next summer in 2026.
Every summer, you can catch a Major League Soccer (MLS) or Canadian Football League (CFL) game at BC Place and root for the home teams, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC or BC Lions.
Another favourite summer sports pastime is catching a Minor League Baseball (MiLB) game to watch the Vancouver Canadians play at the picturesque Nat Bailey Stadium. During the NHL regular season (October to April), the Vancouver Canucks play professional ice hockey at Rogers Arena for those looking to catch a real Canadian hockey game.
Looking to learn more about local sports history? Pay a visit to the BC Sports Hall of Fame (open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am-5pm) located at Gate A inside BC Place.
