West Vancouver’s Harmony Arts Festival’s Exciting New Line-Up

From July 29 to August 7, West Vancouver becomes a mecca for anyone interested in the arts. Attracting over 400 established and emerging visual artists and 150 performing artists, the 26th annual Harmony Arts Festival, is a celebration of music, performance, literary works, cinema and art.The event draws over 130,000 visitors to West Van’s beautiful waterfront, an idyllic summer setting indeed. With multiple stages and parks set up to host a plethora of music, and something for every taste, this year the Park Royal Marina Club is in the mix as a new venue. Open for food and bar service each day they’ll feature live music every evening from 6 p.m.-10 p.m.

During the fest, here are four not-to-be missed concerts:

Wil Campa y La Gran Union, one of Cuba’s most loved singers and performers for the first time on Vancouver’s North Shore. A Grammy nominee and tireless ambassador for his country’s music, he is well worth grooving to.

Coco Love Alcorn is a Canadian singer and songwriter, performing music from her latest release, ‘The Spirit Sessions.’

The R&B Allstars are Vancouver’s original party band since the 80’s, and have a new revitalized line-up with plenty of R & B, and their signature horn and rhythm sections.

Warren Dean Flandez from Yellowknife channels the essence of soul greats like Al Green and James Brown. In 2011 Warren released his critically acclaimed debut album “Vintage Love.” followed by a successful run on national television appearing on CBC’s Cover Me Canada.
