Only 633 steps to go… The Vancouver Urban Grind is Back for 2019
With the sudden snow and cold weather in Vancouver, getting outside to exercise is likely the last thing on your mind. Especially when the couch looks so inviting and you have to catch up with another season of your favourite show on Netflix.
Luckily, the Vancouver Lookout is bringing back a fun excuse to exercise with the 2019 Urban Grind.
Similar to the much loved (and hated) Grouse Grind, the Urban Grind features lots of step… 633 in total, to be exact. For this grind, you’ll be tackling 28 flights of stairs, but it’s worth it for what’s waiting at the top!

The 2019 Urban Grind takes place every Tuesday evening in March from 4:30 – 6:30 pm (March 5, 12, 19, and 26).
For a $5 entry (cash only) you’ll get one beer, DJ entertainment, and a $5 Harbour Centre Food Court voucher… So, really, you’re getting your $5 back plus more!
Once you reach the Vancouver Lookout at the top, you’ll be treated to a 360º aerial view of Vancouver. And, if you haven’t built up enough of a sweat after 633 steps, you can also return to the base of the building and complete the whole thing again as many times as you can handle it!
If you’re hoping to climb the equivalent of Grouse Mountain, you’ll have to do the whole thing about five times (the Grouse Grind features ~2,830 steps!)
Itching for an intense workout that also gives you a nice excuse to enjoy a beer (and maybe a burger), check out the Urban Grind at the Vancouver Lookout starting on March 4, 2019.
