Unique thing to do in Vancouver #463: Cat Life Drawing Workshop!
Vancouver has no shortage of unique things to do, whether it’s visiting a giant windmill on the top of a mountain or seeing some of the tallest Christmas trees in the world.
So if you’re constantly on the quest to find the most unique things to do in Vancouver, you’ve got to check out this hilarious workshop event at Vancouver’s very own Cat Cafe.
On select days in December and into January, Catfe will be hosting “Sketch ‘n’ Purr” cat life drawing classes, for artists of every skill level!
Catfe is the original cat cafe in the city, located at International Village Mall (88 West Pender) in downtown Vancouver. The concept of the cafe is similar to those around the world, where visitors can drop in to visit and interact with cats.

Two dates are currently scheduled in December for the Sketch ‘n’ Purr classes, one in December 10th (sold out), and another one hosted on December 17th (tickets still available!) There will also be more dates added in January, so if you miss out this time, you can check back at the Catfe website for the next class.
So, what can you expect for a cat life drawing class? Well, lots of doodles of kittens with a side of cuddling time! The workshop includes one-hour of instruction, followed by a half-hour of dedicated playtime with the kitties.
There is absolutely no drawing experience necessary – so everyone is welcome to venture into the study of the feline form.
Students will explore techniques such as blind contour, contour, sketching, shading and gesture drawings. Materials are be supplied, including graphite and charcoal with kneadable erasers on both sketching paper and good quality, hot press and cold press paper.
Class size is limited, and sells out super fast! Purchase your ticket right meow to guarantee your spot.
