It’s an annual event that draws hundreds of thousands of people to the shores of English Bay in Downtown Vancouver’s West End and this year is expected to be no different.

Organizers of the annual Celebration of Light have announced this summer’s line-up. The competing countries are Japan, the United Kingdom, and Canada. The event take places throughout the day and in the evenings on July 29th, August 2nd, and August 5th.

With Canada celebrating its 150th birthday this year, the folks running the show are running a limited online contest ahead of the festival. They say each night of the fireworks will begin with a ‘quintessentially Canadian’ song and you get to have a say. You can vote to pick the three by clicking here.

The Honda Celebration of Light sparks togetherness and celebrates the spirit of our city as Vancouver’s premier event,” says Co-Chair of the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society Paul Tilbury.

The fireworks will begin nightly at 10:00 p.m. and the winning team will be announced on August 8th.
