The 2016 Vancouver Zombiewalk Rises Again this September
Brains!!! The zombies are coming to Vancouver again, and this isn’t just the extras from a Fear the Walking Dead film shoot. Happening since 2005, the Vancouver Zombiewalk has grown from a modest parade of blood-covered hooligans to a huge mass of monsters, with participants of all ages converging with creative costumes and lots of GOOOOOORE.
The 2016 Zombiewalk will be assembling at the Vancouver Art Gallery (Robson Street side) at 4pm on Saturday, September 10, 2016. The zombies will shuffle down Robson street to Denman before arriving at English Bay around 6pm. Anyone is invited to participate in this event, which is one of the city’s most notorious and largest public flash mobs.

Every year, the Vancouver Zombiewalk has continued to grow bigger and bigger with more creative costumes and huge quantities of blood-soaked good times every single year. Nobody really knows why everyone does it, aside from the mass amounts of FUN.
If this is your first Zombiewalk (or your seventh), there are a few instructions to keep in mind:
- Do not vandalize anything (police will be ticketing anyone who causes any trouble)
- Ham it up for the cameras (Make sure and put on your best Zombie face for any and all cameras around, but also remember to be respectful of people’s equipment!
- Respect & obey the police
- Respect the little ones as well (Though we big kids all see the fun in it, small children may not, and if you see any children reacting fearfully, please do not add to their distress! Just move on and let their parents explain.)
- Help clean (Organize a cleanup crew and follow afterwards to help clean up blood spills. The Zombiewalk is a community based free daytime event that is made possible by the efforts of thousands of people. Feel free to help out behind the scenes by simply organizing cleanup crews!)

If you want to go more extreme than corn syrup and food dye, there will be Special Effects (SFX) artists on site at the Art Gallery from 12:30 – 3:30pm to get you looking your most goriest. This highlight is first come, first serve, so get there early if you’re really keen.
The 2016 Vancouver Zombiewalk is scheduled for Saturday, September 10 at 4 p.m. For updates on the starting location and route of the parade, check out the official event page.
