Summer is here and the time is right… for getting outside in Vancouver! Check out these wellness related events happening for the month of July. (And remember to slather on that sunscreen!)

Run Canada Day (July 1)

Get in the spirit of Canada Day! Come run the beautiful trails of Pacific Spirit Park at the Run Canada Day 5k, 10k, and 1K Kids Fun Run. Once you’re done your race of choice, enjoy post-race refreshments and a Canada Day cake in UBC Westbrook Village. Proceeds from this race go towards Diabetes Canada. A patriotic win for everyone! Vancouver Food Bike Tour (Saturdays)

Indulge in the fine local foods and beverages of Vancouver while touring on a bike around the city. Spend a summer Saturday getting a taste of the city and burning off the calories? Peak Yoga on Grouse Mountain (Starts July 6)

Pre-brunch or post-Grouse Grind yoga, anyone? Grouse Mountain and YYOGA have brought back the yoga experience with spectacular BC views. Starting on July 6, you can attend a complimentary 60-minute outdoor yoga class on top of Grouse Mountain, every Saturday for the rest of the season! Your Skyride down will be perfect bliss. GRIND10 (July 1-15)

From July 1-15, take on the challenge of completing 10 Grouse Grinds in 15 days. You could win some great prizes, improve your fitness and support BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Summerfast 10k (July 20)

Don’t have a lot of time? Multi-task by signing up for this scenic and fast flat course race through Stanley Park and around the seawall. Get a solid run in and see the sites. There will be a post-race brunch, and cash prizes available to top open and masters; merchandise prizes for 2nd and 3rd overall open males and females. for more info and to sign up, click here.

Vancouver Pride Run & Walk 2018 (July 22)

The Vancouver Pride Run & Walk is for everyone of every ability. Funds raised go directly to Vancouver’s LGBTQ2+ community beneficiary scholarships! Put on by a local community club and a great team of volunteers, it’s a fun event meant to be enjoyed by all. Dress up, don’t dress up; your choice! For more information, or to register, click here.

MEC Run Crew (Various)

If you miss your running group while you’re away, local outdoor sports gear shop, Mountain Equipment Co-Op a.k.a. MEC, hosts a free evening running club throughout the summer.
