With less than one week remaining until the 26th annual Honda Celebration of Light fireworks competition, festival organizers are encouraging festivalgoers to “wear their colours” in the spirit of competition, supporting their competing countries- The Netherlands, Australia and the United States.

With a line-up of competitors from The Netherlands, Australia and the United States, festival organizers encourage attendees to get in the spirit of the competition and come out wearing team colours, bring flags and to have fun on social media using the hashtag #celeboflight and their country’s flag emoji. Festival organizers will be highlighting the best outfits and colours on the official Honda Celebration of Light social channels. The West End BIA will also be giving out flags in two locations in the neighbourhood.

Both locals in the area and tourists are asked to paint the beach orange on July 23rd when The Netherlands compete, and come out in full yellow and green for Australia on the 27th and remember to wear that red, white and blue for the USA on July 30th.

The free SHOREFEST concert series, the Concord Pacific Seawall Challenge and Vancouver’s largest Food Truck Festival will accompany the Honda Celebration of Light – the world’s longest-running offshore fireworks competition.

Limited tickets remain for The Keg Lounge, the YVR Observation Deck and the Inukshuk Lounge at the Honda Celebration of Light. Those interested in reserving their seats and purchasing tickets to either of those venues are asked to visit the website.
