FIFA World Cup 2026™ is so much more than the exhilarating soccer matches on the field. Here in Vancouver, it’s a way of life. In fact, there are so many exciting events happening around the city, it’d be nearly impossible to visit them all.

The best part? Tons of these events are free. With city-wide festivities ranging from the FIFA Fan Festival™ in the East Village to community watch parties scattered all across Vancouver, the spirit of celebration extends far past the walls of BC Place.

Here are some of the best free events happening in Vancouver where you can celebrate the World Cup without breaking the bank. Just remember to bring cash for any handcrafted souvenirs, mouth-watering food truck snacks, or locally crafted beer that catches your eye.

Free FIFA World Cup 2026™ Community Events

FIFA Fan Festival™

  • What: Come for the live match broadcasts on giant screens and the 120+ performances by international and Canadian artists, stay for the unbeatable FIFA Fan Festival™ vibes. Outside the stadium, this is where the city comes together to celebrate. These 28 days of free festivities are perfect for the entire family and dedicated football fanatics alike.
  • Where: PNE grounds in Hastings Park
  • When: June 11 to July 19

Yaletown Kicks Off

  • What: Vancouver’s trendiest neighbourhood for upscale bites and year-round patios is undergoing a makeover, World Cup-style. At Yaletown Kicks Off, you can expect a family-friendly, neighbourhood-wide fan zone including an official FIFA World Cup 2026™ installation at Bill Curtis Square, colourful soccer history murals in Helmcken Plaza, and the perfect spots for FIFA photo-ops at Hamilton Docks.

  • When: June 11 to July 19

Game Days at South Flats

  • What: Game Days is a free, community-focused outdoor watch party series just minutes from downtown at South Flats in East Van. Watch the game on a giant screen while enjoying snacks and drinks from several local food trucks. On the weekends, the kids can have their faces painted, jump to their hearts’ content in a soccer-themed bounce castle, and test their soccer skills in the Real Sport XP soccer cage. Live announcer commentary included!

Granville Island Watch Party

  • What: Granville Island Watch Party is the definition of the word “festivities,” with seating for a thousand people, a giant 24-foot screen, rotating local food trucks, a craft beer garden, family play zones, and live performances. You’ll want to check this one out.

  • When: On match days, June 11 to July 19

Gastown United

  • What: Gastown United is an action-packed lineup of programming during FIFA World Cup 2026™, all taking place in historic Gastown. Join in on an all-day viewing party on July 3 in Carrall St. Alley, where you can watch the game on a large screen right in the heart of Gastown.
  • Where: Various locations in Gastown
  • When: June 1 to July 5

Canada Soccer House

  • What: The Shipyards at the North Van waterfront are transforming into Canada Soccer House. Participate in athlete meet-and-greets and enjoy tons of entertainment, giveaways, and food trucks, plus a large screen to watch the matches.

  • When: June 11 to July 7

Richmond Celebrates Soccer

  • What: Did you know the City of Vancouver isn’t the only city in the Metro Vancouver area? Explore the area’s other cities, including Richmond, which is hosting a jam-packed calendar of its own programming called Richmond Celebrates Soccer. Check out one of many Richmond neighbourhood block parties, put your soccer skills to the test, enjoy live performances, and participate in soccer-themed art activities for the whole family.

Canoe Cultures Markets

Experience Coast Salish Indigenous history and culture at Canoe Cultures Markets. With three separate markets happening across the city, you won’t want to miss these Indigenous-led events.

Canoe Cultures The Last Mile Market at Concord Community Park

  • What: An unforgettable way to experience the living cultures of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, and Squamish Nations, alongside Indigenous artists from across Turtle Island (North America) in the heart of Vancouver. Artists, Knowledge Keepers, and cultural practitioners will share their creativity and stories with visitors from around the world.
  • Where: Concord Community Park
  • When: Beginning four hours before each match on every Vancouver match day, with markets running June 13, 18, 21, 24, 26 & July 2 and 7, 2026.
Canoe Cultures Granville Island Public Market

  • What: Live cedar strip canoe demonstrations, a 20-booth Indigenous marketplace, and frequent carving demonstrations, all in the centre of beautiful Granville Island.
  • Where: Granville Island
  • When: August 6 to 9
Canoe Cultures at the PNE Fairgrounds

  • What: Presented by Canoe Cultures, Tatus Festival is a lively two-day festival of Indigenous music, arts, and culture at the PNE.
  • When: The Tatus Festival runs as the PNE’s featured exhibit from September 4-5. Canoe Cultures also presents cultural demonstrations and a showcase of Indigenous arts and culture with over 50 Indigenous artisans selling their art, from August 22 to September 7, 2026
  • Where: Festival Park area of the PNE Fairgrounds. Check out the PNE website for full information on admission to the grounds.

National Indigenous Peoples Day at the SLCC

  • What: One of many National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations happening around the city, the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre's National Indigenous Peoples Day festivities are a vibrant celebration of Indigenous culture in Whistler. From morning ‘til evening, experience storytelling, Indigenous cuisine, interpretive forest walks, artisanal vendors, and so much more.
  • Date: June 21
  • Price: $25 for full museum admission. Free for youth under 18.

Spo7ez Artist Market

  • What: If you can’t make it to the SLCC on June 21st, check out the Spo7ez Artist Market, which features handcrafted works from Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Líl̓wat7úl artisans.
  • Where: At the SLCC, on the Mezzanine Patio.
  • When: The first Sunday of each month during the summer (June 7, June 21, July 5, August 2, and September 6)
