Looking for one of the most exciting Vancouver events this fall? Red Bull Hardline BC is bringing one of mountain biking's most legendary competitions to Vancouver's North Shore.

Vancouver’s North Shore Mountains are a dream destination for mountain bikers from across the world. Known for adrenaline-pumping terrain, expert trail features and jaw-dropping rainforest scenery, it’s about time the iconic Red Bull Hardline event made its way to British Columbia. On October 17, the world’s most elite male and female riders will travel to Cypress Mountain Resort to take on the world’s most extreme downhill race, and you’re invited to watch.

The BC Redbull course will be unlike any other, with elements that are not allowed in the World Cup and other UCI races, from massive gap sections to technical rock gardens and sheer drops exceeding 10 metres. This will make for an incredible spectator experience, and the course has been designed to put you at the heart of all the action.

Cypress Mountain Resort's Mountain Biking Legacy

Cypress Mountain is part of Vancouver's North Shore Mountains, home to the birthplace of freeride mountain biking and some of the world's best mountain biking trails. Cypress has carved out its own legacy on the North Shore as the area’s largest mountain destination with roots dating back to 1924. It offers 600+ acres of alpine terrain and the Lower Mainland’s only Nordic trails in the winter.

Summer brings a full lineup of mountain activities to Cypress Mountain, from the Eagle Coaster and hiking trails to axe throwing, alpine dining, and more. The mountain biking trail network is vast, largely unsanctioned, and unmarked, with some of the North Shore's most technical terrain, making it the ideal venue for the pinnacle of downhill racing.

The BC Red Bull Hardline course is designed to deliver an unforgettable spectator experience. Set against the backdrop of a lush coastal rainforest, the course's natural amphitheatre-style terrain and dramatic features create exceptional viewing opportunities. Dedicated spectator zones provide unobstructed views of massive jumps and stomach-turning drops, ensuring it’s a thrilling experience for those both on and off the course.

How to Travel to Cypress Mountain for BC Red Bull Hardline

Important: Due to the venue location and limited parking capacity, there are only two ways spectators can access the event.

From downtown Vancouver, you can drive to Cypress Mountain Resort in approximately 30-45 minutes. You can buy a Carpool Vehicle Ticket which includes parking and general admission for the vehicles' passengers (up to 8 people, including the driver).

Cypress Coach Lines will also operate shuttle bus services to and from the mountain with pickup locations at the Vancouver Art Gallery and Park Royal. The entire journey takes just over an hour, and is a great way to travel to the event without any worries about parking.

Practical Tips to Enjoy the Event and Cypress Mountain

Arrive early: With thousands of spectators expected for this event, you are best off arriving early and enjoying the mountain before the race starts to secure a great parking spot. If a front row view is important to you, head over to the spectator zones well before the start.
Dress in layers: October weather on the North Shore can be unpredictable, so come prepared with layers including a rain jacket.
Wear comfortable shoes: You’ll likely be on your feet much of the day, so wear comfortable hiking shoes or trail runners to keep comfortable and dry.
