There is a lot in store for Vancouver this year! With new restaurants, hotel revamps and renovations, and exciting new tours, 2020 is going to be one for the books. Here are just a few of the many things you can look forward to this year:

There’s a new tour on the block! Self-Guided Food Tours is a new company in Vancouver launching a series of online food tours where guests get to explore the city’s vibrant culinary scene using only their phone and their stomach. This unique experience costs only $7, and after payment users are sent a link that guides them to the full tour. The tours include an interactive map, insider tips, points of interest, history and stories, and foodie recommendations. The cost of food samples is not included, however, the full-paid tour grants access to discounts at the tour recommended food stops. The tours are now live and available for download, here.

The Fairmont Pacific Rim is undergoing some exciting changes this year, including the unveiling of a Taschen Library retail store, located on the second floor of the Forbes Five-Star luxury downtown Vancouver hotel. This is only the second Taschen hotel retail library location in Canada, housing a collection of over 275 titles available. The hotel will also be celebrating its 10th year anniversary this February, commemorating its introduction to Vancouver during the iconic 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. Fairmont Pacific Rim will be hosting a series of events and introducing packages that will highlight the story of its life as a decade defined, from artistry and celebrations to culinary and cocktail, and a few more surprises.

FlyOver Canada will be showing Soar Over Taiwan for the very first time from January 16th – February 16th, 2020. Soar Over Taiwan showcases the beauty of Taiwan as seen from above. From the Ruan’an Bagua Tea Farm to the glittering towers of Taipei, guests will be able to see the best of Taiwan from downtown Vancouver. During this special 4D feature, guests can physically feel the ocean breeze, feel like they’re diving into the water at Green Island, fly over the Yanshui Beehive Fireworks and experience the sounds of bustling cities. This exciting first-ever Vancouver showing is on for a limited time, so don’t miss out!

Vancouver Mysteries is starting 2020 off with a bang. The interactive game company will soon announce their new outdoor game, “Kidnapped,” set to launch this Spring. This is Vancouver Mysteries’ 4th outdoor game but it’s first using bicycles! The company is collaborating with Cycle City Tours for this exciting new addition. Vancouver Mysteries is also happy to announce the launch of their first-ever pop-up indoor mystery game, “The Case of the Hotel Detective.” Starting February 1, 2020, players will be able to book their own pop-up mystery! The game is brought to the player and introduced by in-character Game Operators providing everything they need to play, including a private investigator's license. Players gather around the evidence and work as a team to look for clues, complete challenges, and collect points. This is a fun indoor activity for groups traveling together for pleasure or for business and is also perfect for locals looking for a mystery that can “pop-up” at their event, like a conference or a birthday party.
