This index is proof that we are that much closer on our goal of becoming the most sustainable destination on the planet. By 2050, 100 percent of our energy use will be derived from renewable sources, according to the Renewable City Strategy (keeners that we are, we’ve already topped 90 percent). Zero Waste 2040 is another important vision, which outlines our plan to achieve zero waste by 2040. With businesses, individuals and government uniting to achieve these ambitious targets, it’s only a matter of time before Vancouver is as green as the nature that surrounds it.
