Roots Vancouver Flagship Store Gets a Re-Vamp

The intersection of Vancouver’s Robson and Burrard Streets has been the primo downtown location for one of Canada’s favourite retailers for 18 years. Now bigger and better, Roots has renovated and expanded, with a sleek new ‘modern cabin’ store design, using BC Douglas Fir wood and honed black granite, perfect for showcasing what many believe to be the best in leather goods for women and men, covering jackets, bags and footwear. And for the entire family, the brand’s cozy, leisurewear and sweats are wardrobe staples.

For visitors to Vancouver? Talk about taking home some real Canadiana – but instead of tacky touristy stuff you’ll likely never wear later from a souvenir shop, Roots has a way of nodding to old-school-inspired items that is subtle, fun, retro-centric and always wearable.

Take the ‘Greetings from Canada’ sarong, $40. Slightly retro, and does triple duty as a scarf, a beach cover up, even a tablecloth.

The long sorority jacket, $428, is a modern take on the classic, college club jacket, but this time in knee length, and with all the important details still in tact.
