It’s brisk out there, folks! Whether it’s a campfire or a fireplace feature in a snazzy hotel, there’s just somethingabout sitting by the fire. It’s time to get cozy for date night or dinner with your housemate. Warm-up by the fire over dinner or cocktails at some of Vancouver’s best restaurants and hotels.

Until February 5, 2021, in line with the public health order issued on November 20, non-essential travel into and out of BC is not recommended. BC residents let’s do our part by continuing to stay local and support local, with your immediate household or bubble, in accordance with the latest guidelines.

I’m very spoiled. Why? I have a wood-burning fireplace in my home. (Please don’t hate me.) But before that happy occurrence, I was (and still am) a fan of choosing a restaurant that has a cozy fireplace or firepit that my partner and I settle by.

Whether it’s a campfire or a fireplace feature in a snazzy hotel, there’s just somethingabout sitting in front of a fire that makes you feel super hygge and at peace. Here are some of the best cozy fireplaces in the city:

The Roof at Black + Blue

With its location in Vancouver’s finance district, one might not think about The Roof at Black + Blue as a typically cozy spot. But when you gather for cocktails with your bubble around a firepit, there’s an equally hip and cozy vibe. Combine that with excellent steak, and a glass of red and you’re all set!

The Sandbar Restaurant

Not only does Sandbar serve up fresh seafood with a floor-to-ceiling view, but this Granville Island gem’s indoor atmosphere also makes for a cozy brunch or dinner spot. As I said, there’s something about fireplace…
