While Valentine’s Day is mostly geared towards couples, February 13th has become the day to celebrate your girl squad: Galentine’s Day. And Vancouver is where it’s at for you to take a page from Parks and Recreation‘s Leslie Knope and celebrate your gal pals!

1. Brunch

Catch up with your girlfriends over mimosas and Eggs Benny; you can’t go wrong with a patio brunch in Vancouver, even in February, because a fair amount of eateries have covered and heated patios. Be sure to make a reservation!

2. Shopping spree

What’s better than a shopping spree with the girls? Not much. Whether you and your squad are into thrifting and vintage, scoring on-trend boutique finds on Robson, West 4th or in Gastown, or the luxury department store experience of Nordstrom or Holt Renfrew, Vancouver’s your shopping city!

3. Spa Day

Spend an afternoon with your besties, getting pampered with some West Coast inspired spa treatments at one of Vancouver’s world class spas. Spend a few hours getting mani-pedis, massages, and facials. You’ll leave feeling like a million dollars and feeling full of heart!

4. Get moving at a class

Whether you’re wanting to zen out with some yoga, get your adrenaline up with a spin class, or feel the girl power rush of The Class at TurF Living, there are so many options for fitness and wellness classes in the city.

5. Afternoon Tea

There is nothing more civilized than a fancy afternoon tea. Nothing. A pot of tea each plus three tiers decadent savoury and sweet treats is an afternoon well spent. Some scenic and/or unique afternoon tea venues include:

6. Sip decadent cocao

On the topic of decadence, the Hot Chocolate Festival is going strong through February 14th; so if you haven’t had a chance to come into the city to sample one or five of the over 70 flavours, Galentine’s Day is coming up just in time!

7. Dinner & Drinks

Channel your inner Charlotte, Carrie, Miranda, or Samantha – the ultimate girl squad – and step out on the town for dinner and drinks at one (or more?) of Vancouver’s eateries and bars. Some fun options with great wine lists, creative cocktails, and excellent food are:
