Lydia Avsec: Closer

Closer invites you to slow down.

THIS Gallery is pleased to present Closer, a solo exhibition by Victoria-based artist Lydia Avsec. Inspired by the colours, textures, and atmospheres of the natural world, these layered abstract paintings shift between the microscopic and the expansive, revealing new relationships as you move through the space.

From a distance, the paintings appear immersive and atmospheric. Up close, they dissolve into intricate networks of texture and gesture, rewarding careful attention with constantly changing forms.

Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, July 18, from 12–4 pm. Lydia will be in attendance, and everyone is welcome.
