During the closing stages of that match, Algeria set a World Cup record with an incredible 110 consecutive passes in the build-up to their 3rd goal.

While they don’t boast the knockout track record of their opponents, Algeria’s last World Cup appearance in 2014 saw them narrowly lose 2-1 after extra time to Germany, almost knocking out the eventual tournament champions.

At the age of 35, Riyad Mahrez remains Algeria’s main man. The former Manchester City attacker is still capable of conjuring magic moments, and he’ll need to be at his best if his nation hopes to reach the Round of 16.
