Saddle Up With Tips for LunarFest Vancouver

Avoid the parking hassle
Finding parking at multiple festival sites can be stressful. Take the Aquavbus, hop on public transit, or use taxis and rideshare services like Uber or Lyft to travel easily between festival locations for a worry-free experience.
Plan your route between festival sites
With multiple locations across the city, it’s a good idea to map out which performances, workshops, and installations you want to see. This helps you make the most of your time and avoid missing key experiences.
Capture the lanterns at golden hour
While the lanterns are stunning during the day, photograph them at sunset, when they start to glow and are most photogenic.
Grab your concert ticket early
Tickets for the orchestra concert at the Orpheum are pay-what-you-can, starting at just $8. This popular Lunar New Year performance in Vancouver sells out fast, so book your tickets early.
Sample festival treats
Don’t miss traditional dumplings, sweets, and other Lunar New Year delights while exploring Lantern City and festival sites.
Bring a hands-free bag or backpack
Carry your snacks, water, camera, or any festival purchases in a comfortable, hands-free bag. It’s especially helpful if you’re moving between sites or attending family-friendly workshops.
Dress for Vancouver winter
Vancouver weather can be unpredictable. Layer up and wear comfortable shoes for outdoor festival sites, and bring a waterproof jacket or umbrella if rain is in the forecast.
