About
Montreal-based musician Waahli fuses hip-hop, Afrobeat, reggae and Haitian funk into an uplifting musical sound deeply rooted in his heritage. A co-founder of the hip-hop supergroup Nomadic Massive, Waahli’s solo career has also flourished; his fourth album Seven Bubbles dropped this year. Performed in English, French, and Haitian Creole, it’s inventive music that pushes boundaries. For this show, Waahli will be joined by Vancouver musicians in what is sure to be a fabulous collaboration.
This free concert is co-presented with le Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver and its Festival d'été, and is part of our eight-concert North Shore Jazz series, a partnership with Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
