Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden has long been a cultural hub, fostering the sharing of diverse cultures.
The Garden Tea Festival is a key project to serve this purpose, as tea holds significant cultural importance in many countries. 2024 Garden Tea Festival successfully brought tea professionals, tea vendors and tea lovers from different culture together and celebrated the joy of tea and friendship. The upcoming Garden Tea Festival aims to create a space where tea enthusiasts can come together to learn, connect and immerse themselves in the rich traditions and cultures of tea at an authentic Chinese garden. With the theme Tea for All, this tea festival will be accessible, educational, and fun!
Actvities include:
- Teas from local small tea business, tea tasting and tea-related products
- Chinese tea ceremony all day
- Educational workshops by experts in different fields
- Tea snacks, including Chinese tea snacks, Japanese matcha delights and gourmet cookies
- Incense ceremony: agarwood appreciation
- Chinese calligraphy demonstration and interaction with the public
- Musical instrument performance all day by young talents with BC Chinese Music
- Association-BC Chinese Chamber Ensemble (Guzheng and other Asian musical instruments)
- Photo booth of tea ceremony set-up (all day)
- Hanfu try-on provided by SiruPlum Culture Studio from Toronto
