Vancity’s shopping district

The place for high street shopping

Robson Street shopping, the city’s premier retail district, is known for the global brand stores that grace its sidewalks.

Robsonstrasse

The street earned this historic nickname post-WWII, after a surge of German shop openings

Streetcar tracks were laid down the street in 1895, connecting Robson Street’s stores and restaurants. In the post-war era, the street became teemed with delis, bakeries and high-fashion boutiques, creating a truly international marketplace shaped by immigration.

Robson Street is one of Vancouver’s oldest shopping districts, dating back to the late 1800s.

Robson Street is Vancouver’s retail hotspot. From Granville to Denman Street, people wander in and out of global brand-name stores, such as Lululemon and Sephora, as well as high-end restaurants. Past Granville, you’ll find Robson Square and casual eateries and pubs leading to BC Place Stadium. This area becomes a hotbed of activity during sporting events or concerts, with streams of fans pouring through the streets.
