Ron Bashford Park and Ampitheatre

Overview

Ron Basford Park is a small park in the southeastern corner of Granville Island which hosts Carousel Theatre’s Teen Shakespeare performances in the summer. The park is the largest green space on the island, and is named after the prominent Canadian politician, Ron Basford. Basford initiated a transition of Granville Island from an industrial to a more people-friendly area granting him the nickname of “Mr. Granville Island.”
