Vancouver Yoga and Barre Studios Offering Live Digital Classes
Physical distancing has changed the way we interact and go about our lives. And because you can’t get to the yoga studio, some of Vancouver’s fitness and wellness studios are bringing class to you… online! Flow, tone and keep up your practice from home with these digital class offerings.
While I have a morning fitness and wellness routine at home that I love, I really enjoy going to a class. It’s a social thing and I love the energy of a group class. But we can’t do that right now as Vancouver studios have closed due to COVID-19 concerns. That’s why several yoga and barre studios are offering live virtual classes via platforms like Zoom, Facebook and Instagram Live and their own streaming platforms.

Barre Fitness is Canada’s original barre studio, with studios around the Lower Mainland. They offer an amazing workout that combines the best elements of ballet barre with Pilates, sports conditioning and flexibility. Both paid livestream class pass options and their free YouTube channels videos are available on their website.
With two locations (Kitsilano and Downtown), TurF Living is popular for both their fitness class and food options. In order to still serve the community, they are offering daily classes via their Digital Studio ($12 per class or $100 for a 10-class pass). You can also order their tasty plant-based meals for delivery.

While closed, YYOGA is offering free Live Stream classes via Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, as well as their streaming service: YYOGA at Home (free two-week trial and then $7.99/month). They pay their teachers their full rates for the live classes so if you’re liking them, let them know so they can add more! They are also offering a 5 classes for $65 sale for when their studio reopens—all proceeds from these passes will go to both YYOGA employees and teachers affected by temporary studio closures.
Located in Gastown, One Yoga Vancouver is offering Instagram live classes. Follow them on Instagram for the live stream class schedule.
Though not a studio, Vancouver-based athleisure giant lululemon offers online yoga and meditation classes led by their ambassadors. While cooped up at home, be sure to follow lululemon on Instagram for their weekly #thesweatlife schedule for daily classes and content to keep you motivated.
