Queen Elizabeth Park

Queen Elizabeth Park sits atop the city’s highest point, a 130-acre green space filled with gorgeous gardens and a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees. When the Vancouver fall colours begin to appear, the contrast between the evergreens, the floral gardens, and the red and orange hues of trees preparing for winter is simply breathtaking. Be sure to explore the outdoor arboretum for a diverse selection of trees and seasonal beauty.

VanDusen Botanical Garden

Take the Laburnum Walk through VanDusen Botanical Garden, which features an eclectic mix of plant life that turns to crisp yellow throughout the fall. Also take a look at the ponds in the centre of the park for a gorgeous colour pairing of lily pads on the water and the surrounding plant life.

University of British Columbia

The leafy campus of the University of British Columbia is a great choice for viewing Vancouver fall colours. Located at the far western end of the City of Vancouver, the grand old trees lining the Main Mall turn spectacular colours in fall. You can’t miss the UBC Botanical Garden, a treasure chest of plants from around the world, as well as the Nitobe Memorial Garden, considered one of the most authentic Japanese gardens outside of Japan.

Grouse Mountain

Although it’s filled with evergreen trees galore, Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver is still a sight to behold each autumn. The grasses on the open ski runs turn dozens of shades of fall colours, as do the various shrubs and smaller trees, making this mountain an amazing place to hike during the fall. There are also myriad viewpoints of the city and surrounding mountains to enjoy.
