West Vancouver’s festival of visual, culinary and performing arts launches August 3, 2018

In its 28th year, The Harmony Arts Festival, presented by Odlum Brown Limited, is offering a cornucopia of festival favourites and some exciting new additions for 2018. This year, guests will enjoy a variety of free events and activities including live concerts, art exhibitions, outdoor installations and culinary events along the Ambleside waterfront from August 3–12, 2018.

The Harmony Arts Festival celebrates visual arts, music and performing arts, culinary arts and literary arts. With over 150 free events set on a stunning backdrop of the iconic Stanley Park, there is something for everyone at the Harmony Arts Festival.

Read on to see what new and continuing programs and exhibits will be at this year’s festival:

New This Year

  • A new Indigenous Exhibition, which will include an authentic marketplace and group exhibition
  • The inaugural Ambleside Feast featuring Salmon n’ Bannock
  • Featured artwork designed by a Coast Salish artist, Sinámkin Jody Broomfield
  • Salt & Earth Catering Co. bringing savoury treats to the Salt & Earth Oyster Bar

Visual Arts

  • The Fresh St. Art Market will feature a wide range of products including ceramics, glass, textiles and more
  • ArtSpeaks will feature a range of workshops, demonstrations and artist talks
  • For the Love of Art will showcase youth art in an outdoor exhibition
  • Artsy Kids will offer a fun and messy creative outlet for kids

Music and Performing Arts

  • The PARC Retirement Living in Millennium Park will offer three different performances daily, while Onni Group Sunset Concerts will offer nightly performances on the main stage
  • Guests can also enjoy classic music during the Senior’s Series and jazz music by the waterfront at Live Music at the Silk Purse

Culinary Arts

  • Sample delicious family-style Italian fare at the RE/MAX Waterfront Lounge in Millennium Park
  • Enjoy down-to-earth cuisine at Park Royal Beachside Patio
  • Enter a mecca of mobile food trucks at John Lawson Park
  • Catch innovative cocktail stylings from bartenders at the Night on the Pier
