Imagine standing in the centre of a bustling mall, eyes closed. As you take a deep inhale, your nose fills with the scent of fresh flowers, as though you were standing in the middle of a fully-bloomed flower garden.

When you open your eyes, you’re drawn to the visually-intriguing, intricately-designed vintage gowns, goddess bikinis, and fanciful headdresses that surround you, all made up entirely of Spring’s most beautiful blossoms.

Thanks to Fleurs de Villes‘ cross-Canada Bespoke Flower Events tour, you can experience this dreamlike state in real life. Here’s what you can expect from this year’s floral fashion series, on at Metropolis at Metrotown from April 5th to April 9th.

Discover Vancouver’s top floral design talent.

Each talented florist was hand-picked to design a floral fashion masterpiece, worn by the mannequins on display at the event. The featured floral designers drew inspiration from various places to create truly one-of-a-kind pieces.

This display was inspired by the seaside town of Steveston where the flower and gift shop behind the design calls home.

“We are inspired by the blues of the ocean, the mountains and the lovely nature that surrounds us in BC. This soft, flowing dress echoes the water and wind as well as the rich hues of sunsets through gorgeous roses, peonies, ranunculus and more.” – Janeil of Pretty Things, located in Steveston, BC

This goddess-bikini design proves that all-white can be just as eye-catching as the rainbows of colours that decorate some of the neighbouring displays.

“Less is more for this minimal goddess. Straight from the heavens, this understated mannequin is draped in garden roses, ranunculus and Israeli Ruscus.” – Sonia of Fleurs J’Adore, located in Vancouver, BC

Each designer was paired with a sponsor, using the power of partnerships to propel the event and showcase top talent for visitors to enjoy.

Bring home some blooms from the pop-up floral shop.

On Saturday, April 8th, visitors can browse through the displays, and then pick up a beautiful bouquet to take home. Visit the pop-up flower shop and take your love for flowers home with you.
