Explore Night Markets Around Vancouver

With longer evenings and warmer weather, it's time to enjoy outdoor night markets around Vancouver with the whole family. You can shop from local vendors, enjoy delicious food, and listen to live music.
Shipyards Night Market
Head to North Vancouver every Friday night between May 16 and September 12 for the Shipyards Night Market. The market is located in the Shipyards District, just a few minutes away from the Lonsdale Quay, so it is easy to get there by Seabus from downtown Vancouver. The market is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025, and entry is free.
The focus is on entertainment at the Shipyards Night Market with live music from local bands and DJs blasting from 3 pm until late. You can get your groove on in front of the stage or listen while you browse the stalls for handmade goods and gifts from local makers. There is a beer garden and food trucks on site each week too.
If you're in the area, don't miss exploring the shops and boutiques in Lonsdale Quay and the Lower Lonsdale neighbourhood. You can also enjoy incredible views of downtown Vancouver across Burrard Inlet by walking out along the Shipyards Pier.
Richmond Night Market
The Richmond Night Market is one of the largest Chinese-style night markets outside of Asia. The market runs on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holiday Mondays between April 25 and October 13. Admission is $7 per person but kids under 7 and seniors over 60 are free. It's easy to get to the Richmond Night Market via the Canada Line Skytrain since it is a few minutes walk from Bridgeport Station.
The sprawling market features fashion, crafts, electronics, gifts, and more from a variety of vendors. They have a kids' area as well as live music and dance performances. However, the highlight for most visitors is the food. You can try street food from all over Asia and around the world. Pro tip: bring cash. While some vendors do accept cards or electronic payments, many are cash only.
This year the Richmond Night Market is introducing the world's first night market zipline. Four side-by-side ziplines will soar 600 feet over the market so you can ride alongside your friends and family.
If you want to extend your Asian-influenced trip to Richmond, ride the Skytrain a few stops south to Aberdeen or Lansdowne Stations to explore restaurants along the Richmond Dumpling Trail or the Asian shops at Aberdeen Centre and Yaohan Centre.
Vegan Night Market
Enjoy plant-based food, drinks, fashion, and beauty from over 30 vendors at the Vegan Night Market. The market will set up at Locarno Beach in Vancouver on select Thursday nights from late May until early September. Admission to the market is $4, but you can also bring non-perishable food items to donate to the food bank in lieu of the admission charge.
The Locarno Beach location is easy to get to by bike or on foot along the Seaside Greenway. Or walk a few minutes downhill from the boutiques and restaurants along West 4th Avenue in Kitsilano.
Fort Langley Night Market
Head to picturesque Fort Langley to enjoy the Fort Langley Night Market on Friday nights between late June and late September. The market features a changing cast of vendors each week selling locally made crafts, fashion, and more. There are food trucks too so you can grab dinner.
This family-friendly market is held in a grassy park at the corner of Glover Road and Mary Avenue. There is lots of space for kids to run around as well as a playground.
While you are in the neighbourhood, see if you can spot some familiar buildings - the entire area is a popular filming location for Hallmark movies, Supernatural, The X-Files, Virgin River, and lots more. The Fort Langley Community Hall across from the park has been in dozens of productions.
White Rock Night Market
Head to the beach in south Surrey to experience the White Rock Night Market on select Fridays from May until September. Each week features a variety of market vendors and live entertainment. The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival organizes the market, so each week you can expect a rotating cast of the city's food trucks serving up grub from around the world.
While you are in the area, take a stroll along the oceanside Promenade walkway. Detour onto the historic White Rock Pier for panoramic sea views. Originally built in 1914, the wooden pier has been restored several times including in 2019 after severe winter storms damaged one third of the structure.
Fridays on Front
On select Friday nights in July and August Front Street in downtown New Westminster transforms into Fridays on Front. The vibrant street festival includes local vendors, food trucks, live music, and a kids zone. This year's events feature drag king Justin Abit as the MC.
You can get to Fridays on Front via the Skytrain - it's just a few blocks from Columbia Station on the Expo Line. It's worth detouring from the festival to Westminster Pier Park across the overpass to stroll the paths beside the Fraser River.
