In celebration of Culture Days, a 3 day-long annual collaborative pan-Canadian movement from Sept. 30- Oct. 2 to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities, Vancouver Civic Theatres is hosting three free and fun events.

What: Gatsby’s Night Out at the Orpheum
When: Friday, September 30th
Time: 7:00pm-11:00pm

Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the fabulous historical Orpheum theatre. In celebration of Culture Days we welcome you to put on your flapper dresses, cuffed trousers, and two-toned shoes and head over for a charming evening full of free spectacular events.

The evening will begin with a guided tour of the historical venue, followed by live music by Victoria and The Secrets and the Myrtle Family Band. You’ll also have a chance to view, as well as learn the lindy hop with Rhythm City Productions, strike a pose in our photo booth thanks to Image Cube, interact with a special interactive media art piece by Peter Forde, and last but not least, be amazed by Matt Johnson’s magical tricks!

Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Please Note: This event is 19yrs+ with a maximum capacity of 200. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis with a maximum of 2 tickets per person.

What: The Big Draw Vancouver: Life Drawing with Dancers in the QET Lobby When: Saturday, October 1
Time: 12:00pm-4:00pm

The Vancouver Civic Theatres in partnership with Art Umbrella is excited to participate in the Big Draw, a global event working to reconnect everyone on the planet with the power and pleasure of drawing. Join us in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre lobby for a FREE, all-ages drawing workshop led by Arts Umbrella. Stay for a few minutes or a few hours to work with various materials to capture the dancer’s movements. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

What: Vancouver Tango Milongueros at the Annex
When: Sunday, October 2
Time: 12:00pm-4:00pm

This group will conduction one hour workshops on the hour for those who are interested in learning to Tango! Drinks will be available for purchase. This event is 19+
