1888

German-born businessman set up the neighbourhood’s first brewery

Mount Pleasant has transformed since the 1990s into a favourite for startups, creatives, and young professionals. As a result, busy taprooms, independent eateries and bars, and trendy shops have sprung up around the community, which hums with a frequency all its own.

Mount Pleasant hosts the annual street party the Pleasant Day Festival.
