About
The Great Trek is a celebrated annual running event in Vancouver, organized by the non-profit RUNVAN®. It features a Half Marathon, 10KM, 5KM, and a Relay, offering something for everyone. The event takes place on the beautiful Musqueam territory, with routes showcasing the vibrant fall foliage and the scenic UBC campus.
The Great Trek pays homage to the original Great Trek of 1922, when UBC students marched to their current campus to advocate for better facilities. This historical event is commemorated through the race, which has become a staple in the Vancouver running community. Participants can enjoy cultural performances, including traditional Salish song and dance by the Coastal Wolf Pack, and support local charities through the RUN4HOPE program.
Whether you're aiming for a personal best or simply joining for the fun and festivities, the Great Trek is a fantastic way to end your running season on a high note.
