Overview

George Wainborn Park is a beautiful waterfront park which has large open spaces with a lush green lawn, a water feature, and spectacular views of False Creek and Vancouver. The park is named for Vancouver's longest serving Park Board Commissioner, George Wainborn, who contributed to the City's parks and recreation system for 33 years between 1956 and 1990. There is also a 40-foot-tall wind sculpture of a heron which celebrates the return of this bird species to False Creek.
