Brush with Illumination
Overview
Brush with Illumination is an interactive "brush" which responds to the wind, the tide, and wave actions. The sculpture rests on a steel piling balanced by two large spun steel buoys and moves with the currents. The piece was installed in 1998 by Buster Simpson and was originally meant to transmit weather data and tide changes to the artist’s website to provide more information to the people of Vancouver as well as the Government.
